THE "2ND-HALF" SERIES: DEFINE THE MOMENTS

THE   "2ND- HALF" SERIES:  DEFINE  THE  MOMENTS!  Hello Folks, Trust your week has been great. As for me it's been an amazing week, one that afforded me the chance to slow down, reflect, rest, watch soccer and make my own food the way I like it (I hope wifey is not reading)😋  Speaking of soccer, the turn of events in the match between Argentina and Morocco is a testament to the hope I have for a winning 2nd-half for me and everyone reading this post 🙏. Wait a minute! is the theme for this quarter with July dedicated to a heart-to-heart conversation on what I think can be done to make the 2nd-half of the year count for good. One truth comes to fur from my personal reflections this week which is; defining the 2nd-half just by calendar is too generic and as such could place one under the pressure to move at a very fast pace, yet in a wrong direction. So what better ways can one define a 2nd-half? I came up with 3 thoughts, but please note that they are very...

3RD QUARTER 2026: WAIT A MINUTE!!

Image
3RD  QUARTER:  "WAIT A  MINUTE " !! Hiya, trust this post meets you doing well. It's amazing how 2026 is split in half so fast, but since I proclaimed the theme "Go Full Gear" at the beginning of the year, then I am not surprised that the year is actually going at its full gear 😀 I sincerely hope you are making progress and accomplishing great things anyways. The 3rd Quarter is upon us and I'm tempted to charge my audience to accelerate some more especially as the countdown to the end of the year draw closer, but WAIT A MINUTE!, can we just take a moment to assess all the components of the gear we have been engaging for speed all the while? This line of thought hails from a self-reflection seconded by the mandatory hydration breaks recently introduced to the ongoing 2026 FIFA World Cup, splitting every match into four distinct quarters. So while we take a moment for a quick reassessment before engaging the gears again, here is a line up of the series for th...

THE  "GETTING  TO A YES "  SERIES 4:  THE   EXECUTOR!! Hello Folks, I guess you are doing great and making the best of the rest of the month. I'm glad to be here on the final lap of a series that got me sharing insights from my experience managing people on projects. Through the "Getting To A Yes" Series, I have been able to specify the parties you mostly need a yes from in other to succeed on a project. Here is a quick recap to keep you on track 👇 THE SPONSOR; who sees the vision, sets the pace and keeps the project manager on his/her toes. THE INFLUENCER; not necessarily visible but important as they have the capacity to influence the sponsor. THE EXECUTOR; those you finally assign the job to administer and maximise resources for a project on your behalf. While my previous posts addressed the sponsor and the influencer, my final post on this series will beam the spotlight on the EXECUTOR 👇 #1:  WHO  THEY  ARE  (PLOUGHMEN) These are...

THE "GETTING TO A YES" SERIES 3: THE INFLUENCER

THE  "GETTING  TO A YES "  SERIES 3:  THE   INFLUENCER!! Hi there, Trust this post meets you well. It's still the "Getting To A Yes" series, where I seek to help my audience know how best to work with people and get the job done. I'm here in furtherance of an insightful conversation on how to get to a yes with the parties that matter on your projects.  In my last post I started out with the project sponsors, the ones who champion the vision behind the project and have the capacity to make things happen. And now to the INFLUENCER; the largely invisible yet one of the most important persons in the room. If you have been following the ongoing FIFA world cup tournament, then you will understand my description of the influencer as the Video Assistant Referee (VAR), but this time on the project. ⚽ 🤩 As it is with football, the VAR won't stop the players from doing whatever they want, yet it has the capacity to influence decisions both to their favor and disfa...

THE "GETTING TO A YES" SERIES 2: THE SPONSOR

Image
THE  "GETTING  TO A YES "  SERIES 2:  THE   SPONSOR!! Happy Weekend Folks, Trust you are doing great and making the best of the month of June. From my end I took up a series titled "Getting To A Yes" where I share insights on how you can push to get the job done, working with different (but reasonable) people on your project. I started out identifying the folks you would mostly need a yes from and the first on the list is The Sponsor (a.k.a The Boss). My choice of the word "Sponsor" (over Boss) is deliberate and that's because anyone can claim to be the boss yet have no capacity, while being a sponsor is capacity personified 😊 This statement hails from my past experiences mistaking appearance for capacity, especially working in a city with a "fake it, till you make it" culture (name of the city withheld) 😄 The question therefore is; how can one qualify The Sponsor?, and how do you get a yes from them? 👇 #1:  LISTEN  WHO THEY ARE  Again, ...

THE "GETTING TO A YES" SERIES: WHAT'S A YES?

Image
THE  "GETTING  TO  A  YES "  SERIES:  WHAT'S A  YES?!! Hi Peeps, I guess you are doing great and making the best of the sixth month that's six days gone. It's a brand new month with a brand new series, where I get to share my experience managing people on projects, The "Getting To A Yes" Series holds some insights for my audience especially if you have to liaise with people from time to time in the bid to get your job done. In other words, getting the job done requires getting to a yes. I understand we sometimes work with unreasonably difficult people, but for now my goal is to help you see how best you can push to get the job done, working with different (but reasonable and ideal) people, without becoming a tyrant on one end, or a 'yes man' on the other. I will start by first specifying the folks you mostly need a yes from, then subsequently address what yes means to them and how to get a yes from them. Please come with me 👇 #1:  THE SPONSOR Le...

THE "MORE FOR LESS" SERIES 5: TAKE HOME

Image
THE  "MORE  FOR  LESS"  SERIES 5:  TAKE HOME!! Hello Peeps, Trust this post meets you well. It's been 5 weeks since I began the mission to guide my audience on how to make the best of their spaces on a little budget and limited timeline, with a gig titled The "More For Less" Series. The sequence of my approach on this series addressed 3 key areas namely: 💡 IDEAS; how best to wrap your head around the concepts you have in mind for your space. 🚚 DELIVERY; what must be in place to hit the ground running and not get stuck  👉 WHAT ABOUT YOU; the factors I am unable to capture but that are peculiar to my audience  As I bring this series to a halt, I would like to leave you with snippets of what I brought to the table (the told), what I heard from my audience (the heard), and then what you stand to obtain from daring to make a move in line with this series (the unexpected) 👇 #1:  THE  TOLD Here is a recap of noteworthy points from the ins...
