THE "BLUE, RED AND PURPLE" SERIES 2: IT'S ALL ABOUT BLUE!!!
THE
"BLUE,
RED,
& PURPLE"
SERIES 2:
IT'S ALL
ABOUT
BLUE!!!
Trust you are all doing great.
It's a special weekend as we celebrate women all over the world. Shout out to all the amazing moms, wives, sisters, female leaders, colleagues and friends that make life meaningful for all. You are highly appreciated βοΈ ππ
After a long break from colours, last weekend I launched a series titled "Blue, Red and Purple", with an objective to explore the world of colours, with spotlight on the three mix of colours that makes up the title.
Today is all about blue and I will be addressing the subject matter from the 3 points of view, namely:
π΅ The general meaning and associations of blue
π΅ The effect of colour blue on spaces
π΅ And then, my take on color blue
I'm quite confident you will find every slide on this post insightful, and hereby request that you follow through to the end.
Let's get going π
#1:
MEANINGS
&
ASSOCIATIONS
Translated "AZUL" in Spanish and "AZRAQ" in Arabic, colour blue simply connotes Calmness and Serenity.
Blue is frequently linked to feelings of Tranquility and Relaxation, which explains why brands in the hospitality industry almost always inculcate a shade of blue in their imagery.
Also, trust and reliability is strongly associated with colour blue, and this is largely responsible for the interest that financial institutions have in this phenomenal colour.
If you are wondering why schools are big on blue, it's simply because blue is known to potray Wisdom, Intelligence, Knowledge, Insight, and Intellect.
I mean I can go on to talk about blue and it's significance with Religion, Culture, Royalty and so on, but for want of time and space.
#2:
BLUE &
YOUR
SPACE
If I am asked what make colour blue special for spaces?, my direct answer would be VARIETY
π©΅ Lighter shades of blues can reflect light, making a room appear larger and more open.
π΅ Deeper shades of blues can enhance focus, making them suitable for workspaces or study areas.
And more interestingly, combining both light and dark shades of blues creates a visual appeal than any other colour would (arguably so), in a monochromatic scene like the one in the image attached to this slide.
Just be sure you avoid overusing blue, as it applies to a case of abuse with every other thing in life.
#3:
BLUE
& ME
Besides BLUEY being my favourite cartoon π (don't judge me), I personally attach color blue to establishment and stability.
Taking a look at the shades of blues portrayed by the skies and the seas, side by side how stable and immovable they have been since creation, just reignites my love for blue.
On another end, I'm always thrilled to see symbols of stability like the Commonwealth Wealth Blue Ensign (Australian flag), the Union Jack (British flag), the Stars And Stripes (American flag) and their affiliations with colour blue.
Just give it a deeper thought and you would realise my claims are beyond coincidences.
And by the way, as blue is to stability, so is my commitment to helping you make the best of your space.
I'm just a click away from your next project π
