THE "BLUE, RED AND PURPLE" SERIES 5: THE SPICE OF LIFE!!!
THE
"BLUE,
RED,
& PURPLE"
SERIES 5:
SPICE
OF
LIFE!!!
Hello amazing people
I guess this post meets you well.
Happy Eid-el-fitri to my Muslim audience, may the blessings of this season abide with you always π
After a long break from colours, Consult Kenny Posts finally features The "Blue, Red and Purple" series where I get to explore the world of the 3 mix of colours making up the title of this series.
Below are highlights of cases made for each of the colours in the mix π
π΅ Blue represents stability, tranquility and relaxation, which explains why brands in the hospitality, financial and education sectors almost always associate with shades of blue.
β₯οΈ Controversial red always cut across two extremes hence it is adjudged the most contradictory color because it has more opposing emotional associations than any other color.
πͺ Purple is for creativity and balance, so if there was a tug of war between red and blue, then purple would be the mediator.

The essence of The "Blue, Red and Purple" Series goes beyond talks about the meaning of colours and how they best suit your space, but also seeks to advocate the principle of balance amidst the reality of variation that life presents to us.
As I wrap up this series, here are some thoughts on how to find balance (or should I say go purple) amidst life's varieties π
#1:
PERSPECTIVE
Did you know there can be a huge difference in the design output of two professionals in the same industry simply because they belong to different generations or age group?
This is true in the design and build industry where I operate, especially when you compare the works of a baby boomer with that of a minnenial or gen Z.
I recently had a chat with a veteran architect and builder @ Arc. Ken Bob-Iwe and his response to my question about the secret to the lasting radiance of the 16 year old Olive Court residence in the heart of Banana Island, Lagos was; "DESIGN SIMPLE AND BUILD FOR SUSTAINABILITY".
That is a sharp contrast to the ideology or perspective of a younger generation of designers like my buddy @Sam whose design outlook is more about sophistication and what's trending.
It's a blue vs. red scenerio, and as a minnenial standing between both generations, I choose to be purple π

PLACE
As a citizen of a country with a spike in the rate of migration, I get puzzled by the irony of mass exit of people from a country with huge potentials. Simply put, the contradictions of red adding to the stability of blue.
I shared this thought with wifey not long ago, and we got talking about Charterhouse Lagos, the first British independent school in West Africa, recently launched in the city of Lagos, Nigeria.
With an annual tuition ranging from $10,000- $15,000 USD per annum a negative public reaction is almost guaranteed, however a more critical look at the benefits (economic, infrastructure, cultural etc) indicates a win for the most populous black nation on the long run.
Charterhouse Lagos is a purple for me, as the establishment of an arm of the prestigious Charterhouse family of schools back here, speaks volumes of the intent for an extension of development from the United Kingdom all the way to Nigeria.
Let me know if you are red, blue or purple on this.

PERKIN
If there is anything certain about life, it is the fact that we will always come across stuff and people that are entirely miles apart from our world, and the default reaction is to either tell them off or outrightly avoid them.
But what if we take a pause and ponder the following facts about purple π
π£ Color purple was invented by 18-year-old chemist William Henry Perkin, who was a student at the Royal College of Chemistry in London.
π Perkin was attempting to synthesize quinine, an anti-malarial drug, when he accidentally created a purple dye instead.
πͺ This purple dye, mauveine, became the world's first synthetic dye, revolutionizing the textile industry.
Perhaps your story is next π
And I'll be glad to be part of it, you can get me involved here π
