THE "QUESTIONS PEOPLE ASK" SERIES... PT.2

Hello and happy weekend peeps.

It's 21 days into the year and I have a whole lot to be grateful for, which includes the gift of an amazing audience like you 😍.

Thanks for the questions and other engagements on the interactive platforms for Consult Kenny.

In my last post I commenced this series (in collaboration with Dorcas of Kleanhouse Decor) addressing the question about design trends for 2023, I guess our answers were insightful.

Today, I have questions 2, 3 and 4 with the answers adjoined as you will see in the slides to follow πŸ‘‡

*Q2: Which is better, ready made or custom made furniture pieces?*

As a space planner, I have a natural bias for custom made furniture as it allows for flexibility and adoption of bespoke concepts that makes every project unique in its own way.

However, there is a sense of control plus freedom that comes with finding the ready-made pieces you like and picking them on the spot.

In spite of my personal bias for custom made furniture, it would be wrong to downplay ready made pieces, as both options should actually complement each other, rather than compete.

*Q3: How do you convert total strangers to paying clients?*

My oh my!!!, I didn't see this coming πŸ˜€

The most practical answer I can give to this question is "seek to build trust by genuinely offering to help, and more so by giving more than they expect".

In my opinion, the first barrier you have to break with any stranger (prospects in this case) is the barrier of trust,   and giving more than they expect (in terms of consultation and other professional services) is a very effective way to allay the fear an average prospect would have towards engaging professionals, especially the one they met online.

Come to think of it, there should be a masterclass on this soon
πŸ‘Œ.

*Q4: When is the best time to facelift my space?*

Giving a general answer won't do justice to a question like this, as the indicators to the need to facelift your space are absolutely personal.

Some of these indicators will include the nature of your job, your family size and even your itinerary for the year, among others.

So this is a question that requires some more precise details that will serve as a guide on when the right time should be.

By the way, Consult Kenny is always open to be engaged through the interactive channels listed in the signature below.

I equally look forward to enquiries from my audience on other matters related to making the best of your spaces.

I'm Kenny, an interior designer and project manager.
