#THE "SCALE UP" SERIES

JOIN THE TRAIN

Hello peeps,

Happy new month to you all, may the month of August be filled with memories of blessings for you and your loved ones.

In my preview for the 3rd- quarter (sometime in July), I mentioned that August is the time of the year when individuals, organisations and families plan to upgrade their spaces, while they are out on summer vacation.

In view of this, I will be sharing ideas and insights on how you can upgrade your spaces (home, office and more) to a whole new level, just before the vacations are over and we all get back to the super active mode 😊

In upgrading your space it is important to consider factors like budget, time, and the scope of work, so in line with these factors, my approach on this series will be based on 3 scales of upgrade, namely πŸ‘‡:

        1

Facelift/ Makeover

Facelift defined is any activity undertaken to renew, revamp, update, or improve the appearance of something.

Simply put, facelifts are tweaks to the current aesthetic of some elements within your space. They are relatively simple, minor and inexpensive improvements aimed at getting your space in a better shape.

On the facelift post I will be sharing a case study project, just to drive home what facelifting entails.

        2

Quick Fixes/D.I.Ys

The term 'quick fix' will be rightly used if interchanged with facelift, however the actual sense of usage in this post is within the context of D.I.Ys, that is stuffs you can do to upgrade your space all by yourself without necessarily engaging professionals.

Where budget and time is limited, then it would help to categorise your project in this scale of upgrade.

And the beautiful thing is you can even do quick fixes with your loved ones.

I will be sharing some concepts in this light, hoping you have enough time and guts to execute them this summer.

        3

 Renovation

Where facelift is simply making over what's in existence, renovation provides you with the opportunity to re-design a space to suit your every need as well as cater for your lifestyle changes in the future.

Renovation will require detailed planning, hiring contractors, procuring supplies, a significant amount of money, and more often than not, a demand to completely vacate your space for work to be done.

The scope of work in this category of upgrade will require some form of demolition and fabrication, all of which is capital intensive and could extend beyond the summer vacation.

So if I may ask, would you like to know the category of upgrade your space upgrade would require?
