THE "CATCH UP"
SERIES 5:
ANY
OTHER
BUSINESS!!!
Hi everyone, trust you are doing great.
It's the last Saturday in June and the last lap on The "Catch Up" series. I can't thank you enough for paying attention and following through π.
The conversations on this series have been with folks in the design and build Industry from whom I have gleaned enormous value and inspiration.
I mean Sam's decision to exit a toxic work environment, Roy choosing fatherhood over adventure, are a few examples of the depth of insights embedded in each of the conversations held, and I'm quite sure you would agree with me.
And of course shout out to Kunle, Nosa and Biola for the unquantifiable value they have added to this series as well.

Catching up with colleagues is great and I will do that over and over again, yet the catch up experience will be deemed incomplete without chipping some up-close and personal gists with friends and family.
And here is a sneak peek into my conversation with a friend that came to town, as well as my plans to connect with close family members at a family event coming up this weekend π
THE "#1:
ISAAC
CAME
TO TOWN!!!
Isaac and I have been friends for 11 years and we share a lot in common except for location, as Lagos and Abuja (both in Nigeria) are hundreds of miles apart.
A one on one catch up with Isaac was long overdue as we haven't met since he got married in 2021, so we were eager to grab the slightest opportunity to meet. Thankfully, that happened this week π
We had about 24 hours to ourselves talking about work, family, aspirations and other matters none of which will leak to the public space π, however I should say I was humbled and honored when Isaac revealed a truth I had never known, which is
HIS CHOICE OF CAREER WAS BORN FROM A SOCIAL IMPACT PROJECT WE BOTH EXECUTED BACK IN THE DAYS, SHORTLY AFTER WE MET IN 2013.
It's amazing to see a seed sown a decade ago, become a thriving career that will only get better.
Cheers to greatness Broπ₯
#2:
A.B
@ 50!!!
So it's my brother's 50th birthday party today and that's a good place to connect with close family members like π
- Madetomiwa, my favorite cousin, whom I haven't caught up with in a while until I received a call from him where he mentioned that his bundle of joy arrived sometime in June.
- Ayodeji, one family member I don't even know whether I should refer to as my brother or cousin π€£. We crossed path at an airport while we were both in transit a few months ago.
There are several instances of folks who have been in my mind but out of sight, let's hope I'm able to do some catch ups so I have a line up of gist for you much later π
#3:
TAKE
HOME!!!
Truth be told, the essence of The "Catch Up" series is not to flaunt my network or create impressions of any kind. Having said that what will then be the take home for anyone who has been following my posts in the past 4-5 weeks?
1. NURTURE: Relationships are golden and it doesn't matter whether it's work or family related, efforts have to be made to nurture them.
2. LISTEN: People need to bounce their thoughts and imaginations off you, provided they trust you enough not to judge or compare yourself with them.
3. SHARE: As we all grow and experience life it's important we seek opportunities to both share our perspectives and hear that of other people.
I can go on and on, but for the sake of time and space please permit me to halt this interesting series at this point.
Folks there is no better time to enjoy the highpoint of this event, I will be back next weekend with a preview of series for the 3rd-quarter of the year.
While you wait it will be cool to engage me viaπ
