"GET IT RIGHT"
(G.I.R)
SERIES 3:
LET GO
OF
MYTHS!!!
Happy weekend peeps,
It's good to connect with you in class again, and I guess you are keeping up well.
The last class was all about pronouncing right, and it featured a few interior design terminologies with root from different languages. Do well to review here π

In today's class I will be addressing interior design myths, with the aim to help my audience and subscribers displace certain misconceptions and falsehood around the subject matter.
If I'm asked to collate all interior design myths, chances are high I will summarize them into 3 major categories, and I should say these are simply my personal propositions and not the result of a study or reaearch.
The following slides will highlight these categories of myths with some examples attached π
#1:
THE
COST
MYTH
Below are some cost related misconceptions when it comes to interior design and project management
β Hiring an interior designer is expensive
β The cost of a project cannot be estimated until the the project is completed
β The more expensive the better
β Interior design is only for the wealthy
All of the above notions are false even though they are dominant in many people's thoughts.
The most practical way to displace these myths is by engaging an interior designer with a genuine intention to help you make the best of your space without causing an havoc to your bank account π
And Consult Kenny is highly recommended π
#2:
THE
PERSONA
MYTH
There are a couple of mild impressions some folks have of an interior designer, some of which includes
β Interior designers ignore client input
β Interior design is a female profession
β Interior designers only care about aesthetics
β Interior design is a easy career path
If only you would oblige to feature on my next project, then you will admit the last myth on the list is completely false π
#3:
THE
CONCEPT
MYTH
I agree there is a natural instinct for creativity and artistry in every human, however this does not validate the following myths
β Everything in a space must match
β Small rooms should only have small furniture
β You have to follow the latest trends
β Interior design is a one-size-fits-all solution
The list of interior design myths and misconceptions are endless, but permit me to pause here for want of time and space.
By the ways, there is a place where we have all the time and space for intending learners. Consult Kenny PRO is where you can learn the A-Z of interior design.
