Hi there, I guess you are doing well and having an amazing time in the month of June.

I checked in a new series in my last post and it's titled The "How It All Began" Series, with the intention to give my audience an idea of what spaces go through before they are transformed into something admirable.

The script for this series is planned to go on a reverse mode as I start with the outcome of projects I had once embarked on and then subsequently provide details of what it took to get there.

Playing by the script would have been an easy task if the aim of this series was only to show off and impress my audience, but that's not so, hence my resolve to thoughtfully select the project outcomes to share.

And so rather than making a random selection, I deliberately chose 3 projects defining 3 periods in the history of my career as an interior designer and project manager.

#1: 

THE 

LEARNING 

PERIOD 

Year: 2010- 2012

There is always a first to everything and Project INSIGHT was the first major project I got on after my internship with Design Options Ltd, now D.O II.

And just like the name of this project, I will be forever grateful for the wealth of insights gained in the course of the project, some of which will make it to my subsequent posts on this series.

My appreciation goes to Mrs. Yewande Alao @Patios and Caves for granting me access to this awesome opportunity over a decade ago 🙏 🤗


#2: 

THE 

TESTING 

PERIOD

Year: 2013- 2023 

Having understudied and observed the best I then got on the test taking up a role at FEET AND INCHES, managing projects through design and execution phases on one hand, while leading an establishment that is now going places with people on the other hand.

Functioning in both technical and leadership roles can be tough but having a great team to work with is a factor I do not take for granted.

Of course lessons have been learnt along the line, some of which will feature in the post talking about the process in this series.

#3: 

THE 

BLENDING

PERIOD

Year: 2024- onwards

So I got on a gig as an expatriate with Nixil on a project for a global brand, having to meet professionals from other nationalities and work with players across different sectors.

All of these made me realize the importance of collaboration as I got to a point where my abilities as an individual didn't matter as much as my willingness to collaborate.

It's great sharing these outcomes with you but I would plead that you follow through the process in the subsequent posts.

As for me, I'm trying my best to connect with my audience beyond the scope of my job as an interior designer and project manager by referencing cycles of seasons that spans 2 decades of my life, ranging from year 2004 to 2024. Hence, The "About This Time" Series  Going by my age, the seasons of my life you knew nothing about would likely exceed 3 decades (if you are not a relative, a friend or a colleague), but then I should ask myself; at what points did I become conscious enough to identify seasons of my life and their peculiarities?
