Hi there,

Trust you are having a great time in August. The line up of birthday celebrations has been the catch for me. Shout out to all the Leo's and Virgos out there 💕, but no one rocks like the capricons 😎. 

Before I get distracted with birthdays and zodiac signs, let's get back to the subject for the month; The "City Boy" Series.

It's the 4th week running this series, and so far I have shared memoirs of people and places I have come across in cities I have had the privilege to navigate in the course of my work.

Today's post is about memorable moments, and I have had a few of them in my explorations. From grand opening of laudable projects that made the news, to simple impact projects you may never have heard of, and then this particular moment that got me in shock.

Allow me share some 👇

THE

COMMISSION!!

Location: Haier Ecological Park (H.E.P), Cairo- Egypt 

Date: March, 2024

Security beefed up, protocols uptight as the Prime Minister of Egypt, Mostafa Madbouly came around for the commissioning of the first phase of the Haier Ecological Park, a project I was engaged in.

Beyond the P.R, here is the catch for me; 

This particular project sits on an area of 200,000 sqm, houses six factories for the production of televisions, washing machines, refrigerators, freezers, and air conditioners, with the total project cost valued at $135m.

This event is a memorable one not just because I featured but for the thought of how many lives it will impact now and in the future.

Thumbs up to the Haier Group and the government of Egypt for pulling this through 👍

SUSPICION

Location: Undisclosed

Date: February 2024

This has nothing to do with my work but I think it's worth mentioning because of the shock it triggered in me.

I mean, coming from Lagos-Nigeria, I have seen kids sharing the steering of a moving vehicle with an adult driving. But kids sticking their heads out of a moving vehicle at will?, No way! 

To tell you how shocking this was, I asked my driver to speed up so he could catch up to scold whoever would allow such a scary act, only to find out it was a norm to do such as part of the ritual for celebrating a national holiday 😳.

I'm forced to say "Orisirisi", a Yoruba word that translates to "various, assorted, diverse, or different kinds" in English 😃
