THE "SCALE UP" SERIES 4

RENOVATION

Hello folks, trust the weekend is coming on well with all your plans for summer going smoothly.

Well for me it's been quite an unusual summer with lots of work related activities, as I have been engaged helping individuals, organisations and families upgrade their spaces while they are off on vacation. What an irony 🀷

The past weeks in August have been about upgrading spaces with the SCALE UP series being the platter from which I dish out insights using real life scenarios from my engagements in the course of the summer break.

Just so you have an idea of how far we have come on this series, let's have a recap of the first two approaches that serves as a guide to helping you decide the scale of upgrade for your space πŸ‘‡

RECAP

βœ… Facelift is any activity undertaken to renew, revamp, update, or improve the appearance of something.

βœ… Facelift should improve on both functionality (use of the space) and aesthetics (beauty of the space).

βœ… Quick fix or D.I.Y will not necessarily require you coming up with a budget to have it fixed.

βœ… With Quick fix or D.I.Y, the question of who should have it fixed doesn't usually pop up in your mind.

βœ… The measure of Cost, Time and Scope of work for a Facelift will always outweigh that of a Quick Fix or D.I.Y.

Clear?

RENOVATION EXPLAINED

Whether it's a facelift, a quick fix or even renovation, there are common denominators to all the approaches to upgrading your space, which is Cost, Time and Scope of work. However there is an additional factor that makes renovation exceptional, and that is πŸ‘‡

βœ… THE COURSE

Why do you want it done in the first place?

Could it be as a result of change of lifestyle, for instance the need to create an extra space to accommodate an addition to your family?

Or for current reality, let's say the need to have your office and home in the same building so as to save cost on real estate?

The most important part of a renovation project is in answering the question of necessity, otherwise you increase the chance of getting stuck along the line.

And so because renovation requires planning, hiring, procurement, budgeting and more, I strongly recommend you engage professionals in fields such as architecture, interior design, project management, contracting, administration etc, just before you set the ball rolling.

Trust me, you will return to thank me if you adhere to this advise.

Yeah I know it can be hectic joggling this along with your primary duties, and that's where Consult Kenny perfectly fits in.
