THE "SCALE UP"SERIES 3

 QUICK FIXES/ D.I.Ys

Happy weekend peeps,

I guess you are having a fantastic time this summer, and I hope plans are in place for some upgrade in your spaces just before the vacations are over and we all get back to the super active mode.

August has been all about scaling up spaces, and It's been quite interesting sharing insights using real life scenarios from my engagements with individuals, organisations and families as I help them upgrade their spaces in the course of the summer break.

Facelift was the center of attraction in my last post, now it's time to approach this series from the "Quick fix or Do-it-yourself" point of view

If you have been following my posts on this series you would know that the term 'quick fix' is very similar to the concept of facelift, however my use of the term in this series is so much within the context of D.I.Ys.

So here are some guidelines to help you determine whether your need is a quick fix or not πŸ‘‡:

 THE COST

What would it cost to have it fixed?

Whatever will not necessarily require you coming up with a budget to have it fixed, should often time be categorised as a quick fix.

This could range from touching up a stained wall with leftover paint in the store, to calling for a quick recover of torn sofas or chairs, just as I recently helped with paint touch ups and seat recovery in a restaurant that called for a quick fix, as shown in this video.

THE TIME

If I may ask, how much time would it take to fix a light bulb that's gone bad?

I mean close to nothing, except if you are suffering from electrophobia πŸ˜†

So just like cost, the time involved in having a handle of whatever needs to be fixed will help you determine if it's a quick fix or not.

In most cases, the longer it takes to get it fixed, the higher the chances it's beyond a quick fix.

 THE SCOPE

Another way to easily identify a Quick Fix/D.I.Y is when the question of who should have it fixed doesn't even pop up in your mind.

For instance, you wouldn't think about who will help you place that lovely ornament you just got from the accessories shop, on your console.

And the same relates with several other activities you can carry out by yourself when it comes to upgrading your space.

Now, once there is the need for clarity on who should have it fixed, then you are heading for something beyond a quick fix. And that's a good time to Consult Kenny 😊.
