THE "GETTING TO A YES" SERIES: WHAT'S A YES?

THE

"GETTING

TO YES

SERIES:

WHAT'S

YES?!!

Hi Peeps,

I guess you are doing great and making the best of the sixth month that's six days gone.

It's a brand new month with a brand new series, where I get to share my experience managing people on projects,

The "Getting To A Yes" Series holds some insights for my audience especially if you have to liaise with people from time to time in the bid to get your job done. In other words, getting the job done requires getting to a yes.

I understand we sometimes work with unreasonably difficult people, but for now my goal is to help you see how best you can push to get the job done, working with different (but reasonable and ideal) people, without becoming a tyrant on one end, or a 'yes man' on the other.

I will start by first specifying the folks you mostly need a yes from, then subsequently address what yes means to them and how to get a yes from them.

Please come with me 👇

#1:

THE

SPONSOR

Let's just call them; The Boss.

And here is how you identify them:

✍️ They write the vision

📖 Make it plain

💰 Authorise the cheques, and

✈️ Make project managers like myself run

😄👣💪

I have something to tell you about the boss in my next post. Please watch out!

#2:

THE

INFLUENCER

Believe me when I say; beyond the project sponsor, there are other folks whose opinions you shouldn't joke with on a project.

Top on the list is the spouse of a married client, and the principle remains, whether you are working on a common space where they both have interest, or otherwise.

There are a host of other folks that belong to this category and I will be glad to tell you how to get them on board in a fortnight.

#3:

THE

EXECUTOR

The word Executor is a legal terminology except in this case where it is borrowed to mean those you assign the job to administer and maximise resources for a project on your behalf.

Folks in this category can either fine-tune or dent the reputation you have taken years to build, so it's definitely important we talk about them.

My last post on this series will therefore address issues around their interests and motivation. I just can't wait to get on this, the same way I can't wait to have you bring me onboard your next project.

Let the journey begin now and here 👇
